Rode the bike today around 2KM and it felt good. Nice pick-up and very comfortable. I kept the tacho down to 3K and did not exceed 40-45 kmph.
Read the owners manual before going to sleep :).
Learnt a little stuff about the bike - including turning off the petrol, understanding the engine kill switch and how to steering lock the vehicle.

29th Nov 2008.
29th Nov 2008.Called up Naman Auto Sales (Panvel) to inquire if they would accept payment via a credit card. And the response was - swipe the card today and collect the bike after 3 days. (Got to know later that the rationale behind this is that banks require dealers to complete additional formalities for amounts 50K and above. I think the simple solution here would have been to use 2 credit cards).
Anyways I paid 35K cash and the rest via credit card and took delivery of a midnight black FZ 16 along-with owners manual, first aid kit and toolkit.
Spoke with Mr. Rajinder Singh the manager over there - who explained that a temporary registration number would be provided intially (valid for about 8 - 10 days). Within 3 days of taking delivery of the bike his agent would call and inform when to meet the RTO to show the bike and collect the insurance and vehicle tax documents. The RC book would arrive in about 15 days from date of taking delivery of the bike.
Rode the bike back the distance of 20KM from the dealers showroom to my house after stopping to put in Rs. 100 worth of petrol. Reached home around 18:45.
